How Jason Brown Laces His Skates:
We learned this method at the 2017 Professional Skaters Association conference in Nashville.
1. Tighten the laces up from the bottom as usual, until you get to the hooks. Don't pull too tight; you don't want your toes to go numb!
2. Wrap one lace around the other like you're starting to tie a bow, except wrap around twice.
3. Skip the bottom set of hooks.
4. Lace the other hooks up to the top, wrapping the laces around the hooks from the top.
5. At the top, go back down to the bottom set of hooks, wrapping the laces around the hooks from the bottom.
6. Tie off in a bow down there, at the ankle crease.
This method helps distribute pressure more evenly and allows for greater flexion at the top of the boot. If you want to see a demonstration in person, just ask Sue, Kate, or Ferelith!
